Fulton Five Restaurant Review: Charlestonians have been sending their friends and out-of-town guests to Fulton Five for years. It’s homey, with professional service and an ambitious menu that covers all of the local must-haves. The shrimp panzanella is a tangy combination of balsamic vinegar, juicy grape tomato halves and cucumber brunoise. Crunchy croutons have just enough squish around the edges to soak up the vinegar. The chef’s shrimp are allowed to shine with sweet succulence when brushed with fig preserves. The light caper-encrusted game hen is butterflied and splayed, drumsticks up, across a mound of rich, smooth mashed potatoes and sautéed and seasoned spinach. Desserts are a spot-on complement to the previous courses. Consider the tiramisu and chocolate mousse cake.
