THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Fune Restaurant Review:

The dramatic interior with its neon-blue-accented dome-shaped ceiling and mezzanine-level open private space is a hit among Midtown sushi bars. Denizens come as much for the clever circulating double rows of discs upon which the team of sushi chefs drops tiny dishes of goodies as for the bento boxes that are popular at lunch. Patrons either eat at the extensive sushi bar or at one of the booths that abut the same area. Lunch is the best deal: all you can eat from the rolling sushi lines for $12. Calamari seems a bit under-seasoned, relying too heavily on sauces for its impact. But that's the only offering that is off the mark. The American-style rolls get creative, and one, a "pizza roll," is served hot. The dinner menu adds a selection of quite westernized but Japanese-influenced dishes that somehow are less intriguing than those little bites circulating around the bar. The wine list is short and just fair, but selections are served in topnotch glasses. No saké per se, but it does show up in the fanciful mixed drinks.
