THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED G.V. Hurley's Restaurant & Bar Restaurant Review: Half contemporary restaurant and half trendy nightclub, G.V. Hurley’s can be a bit temperamental. For lunch, the stone-swathed outdoor patio, complete with fireplace and large wooden tables, is a relaxing reprieve from a busy day. But come sundown, trendy see-and-be-seen types flock here for the fancy cocktails and designer atmosphere. Those who don’t want to battle the crowds should visit on off hours to enjoy the creative American menu with a strong Southern influence. Entrées such as grilled salmon, pork medallions and beef stroganoff are available, but sharing a few small plates is a better way to go. The slow-smoked brisket spring rolls are spicy and decadent, spiced with just the right amount of tangy house-made barbecue sauce. The mac ‘n’ cheese poppers, fried in bread crumbs and garnished with a heaping pile of applewood-smoked bacon, are a bit salty yet addictive nonetheless. For dessert, diners can indulge their inner child with the mixed cookie plate, with or without a glass of milk.
