Families love this crowded, noisy Mexican taqueria-cantina. The food is uncommonly thoughtful, fresh and full-flavored, the waitstaff is pleasant and many inexpensive dishes make a meal by themselves. Pozole (the Mexican hominy soup with chicken or pork that’s often touted as a hangover cure) is a tasty example. Also located at 311 Amsterdam Ave., 212-875-8532.
