Gabriel's Restaurant Review

: If you happen to be looking for a low-key, high-grade spot for bicoastal celebrity-spotting with contemporary Italian food, then Gabriel's is for you. Owner Gabriel Aiello made his artist wife, Christine Keefe, chief designer and the dining room is adorned with her contemporary paintings. The kitchen churns out appetizers like artichoke hearts dressed with olive oil and lemon and tossed with baby spinach, Parmesan and black olives; or the roasted marinated sweet peppers with buffalo milk mozzarella, drizzled with pesto sauce. As a main course, opt for the rich eggplant lasagna; the marinated lamb chops served with truffle honey, asparagus and scalloped potatoes; or the veal osso buco, braised with red wine, anchovies and shallots, and served with white beans tossed with thyme and Parmesan and baby carrots. Desserts, like the chocolate soufflé tart, are flat-out addictive.
