Gallo Nero Restaurant Review: Although the space may feel cramped to some guests, on a cold night it's downright cozy. Staff runs around somewhat frantically but you'll find your service gracious and efficient. The wine list is 100 percent Italian, separated by region, with many reasonably priced Barbarescos and Barolos. There are nightly specials, but the menu has everything that would satisfy an Italian craving. Start with a few crostini, perhaps the bresaola and porcini mushroom. Don't miss the San Daniele prosciutto with buffalo mozzarella and peppers. For pasta, we suggest the spinach ravioli with butter, sage and truffle sauce, while braised lamb shank with wild rice is suitable for a chilly evening. The dessert menu is brief and changes nightly. |
