The old Polish city of Hamtramck has become an ethnic quilt over the years, with immigrants from many countries opening small restaurants and shops. Gandhi spices things up with its menu of northern Indian dishes, from tandoori chicken, fish and lamb, to biryani, made with basmati rice specked with raisins and almonds. You’ll also find a number of curries. The immaculate white dining room is echoed in the table linens. The lunchtime weekday buffet is a good way to sample the fare at an especially affordable price.
