THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Gar Wood's Bayview Lodge Restaurant Review:

Perched on the sparkling waters of Belvedere Bay on Lake St. Clair, this is named for the legendary power boat racer and inventor of the ’20s and ’30s and it takes the boater bar concept to a more ambitious level. Weather permitting, diners may sit on the open-air deck and enjoy a burger. However, the indoor seating in three dining rooms is preferable, because there is a view from virtually every table and the nice table appointments add to the enjoyment. The extensive menu ranges from sandwiches to roadhouse style dinners. Given the setting, the seafood and fish selections seem to call out, and they range from sautéed Florida swordfish and Cajun grilled yellowfin tuna to seafood pasta. There’s also a steakhouse-worthy selection of steaks including New York strip and filet mignon. Plates are nicely garnished with herbs and vegetables and breadbaskets are filled with fresh, warm bread. Intimate dining this is definitely not. The rooms seat 350 in lodge-like spaces done in knotty pine and flagstone with antler chandeliers and much Gar Wood memorabilia.
