Garces Trading Company Restaurant Review: This casual neighborhood bistro from Iron Chef Jose Garces pairs a sit-down restaurant serving lunch, dinner and weekend brunch with Garces brand coffee, imported olive oil and condiments to-go. A swank liquor boutique onsite has wine and spirits to take out, while those dining in can pick from the restaurant's list of libations. At lunch, the plat du jour might be fusilli in a carbonara sauce or steak frites, while dinner brings the option of a chef's tasting menu for $40 or $55. Pizzas --- both thin-crust and deep-dish styles --- pasta, salad and straightforward fare such as roasted chicken and lamb chops round out the offerings. An 18-seat bar features its own menu that includes antipasti, house-made mozzarella on grilled bread, and shrimp and scallop meatballs. For dessert, choose among a rich old-fashioned chocolate cake for two or a seasonal macaron assortment. On weekends, brunch choices include a $29 a person steak frites option for the tables that includes sunny side up eggs, potato rosti and truffled sauce béarnaise; a $22 two-course meal that includes a basket of house-made pastries and coffee or tea; or à la carte choices.
