| This enormous strip-mall spot with an indoor waterfall and turtle pond seats at least 300, and the buffet tables are laden with all you can eat of practically every dish you've ever seen on any Korean menu in Chicago. Grill-them-yourself meats (marinated short ribs, beef, chicken, shrimp, and a variety of cuts you can't identify) are the centerpiece; a brazier of hot coals is brought to the table, which has a self-contained vent system. Servers get you cooking and do their best to provide a brief orientation tour of the rest: sushi and maki, half a dozen hot and mild soups, more than a dozen varieties of kim chi and other cold sides, noodles galore and a handful of prepared entrées, among them delicious braised short ribs. Wash it all down with Korean beer. |
