THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Gatehouse Restaurant Review:

Despite the slightly suburbanesque décor, Gatehouse offers a pleasant respite for simple American food, just steps from the promenade along the Hudson. Gatehouse has an eclectic menu ranging from a grilled cheese sandwich to pasta to a 16-ounce New York strip. Atypical of large menus, the quality of the food is very good and consistently so. Portions tend to be plentiful: the salad of grilled skirt steak served over mixed greens and sliced avocado with lemon vinaigrette is enormous, as is the grilled salmon filet with roasted zucchini and herb-roasted tomato over green salad and dill sauce. Main courses abound, and some of the better ones include barbecued chicken and the chicken saltimbocca, stuffed with prosciutto and Fontina in Marsala sauce with mashed potatoes and vegetables. The dessert selection includes old standby favorites like cheesecake, Key lime pie and carrot cake.
