Gators Cafe & Saloon Restaurant Review:
This unique spot boasts the world's longest waterfront bar. While that claim might be disputed (the bar in this case is the entire establishment, not just the place you belly up to), the view is quite unusual and all the rooms open up to the great outdoors. Diners can sit and watch John's Pass Bridge raise or lower from the underside of the bridge and ponder the charter boats as they come and go. There are video and table games scattered throughout. The motif embraces the University of Florida sports team---the Gators---while the food is typically Florida beachfront, with hot dogs, barbecue, smoked-fish-spread sandwiches and grouper. Frozen alcoholic drinks are also featured---this is Florida, after all---with names like Lady Gator (coconut rum and pineapple juice) and Waborita (Cabo Wabo tequila, triple sec and blue curaçao).
