| One of the last in a once-ubiquitous chain, this restaurant turns out rather respectable Argentine cuisine at reasonable prices, which is what made these restaurants attractive in the first place. Don't miss the little iron skillet full of melted cheese and spices known as provoleta for an appetizer, or consider mollejas (garlicky grilled sweetbreads, a Buenos Aires fave). The chicken dishes, such as the milanesa, are good, but as everyone knows, Argentines excel at steak and beef. The best way to experience the beef is the parrillada (mixed grill) which comfortably fills three hungry guests. Finish with flan or crêpes with dulce de leche, an Argentine staple. With its generous use of stone and wood, this is an inviting, casual spot in a neighborhood with many choices. |
