Georges' Restaurant Review

: The bar at Georges’ is always busy thanks to the happy hour scene that draws a well-heeled crowd for complimentary hors d’oeuvres and drink specials during the week. It’s also a good place to enjoy a sandwich or brick-oven pizza. For a quieter, more relaxed environment, settle into one of the retooled dining rooms designed to evoke the best of rustic French farmhouse décor. While staying true to chef-proprietor Georges Perrier’s French roots, the menu might include dishes such as a trio of mini crab cakes with rémoulade, chipotle aïoli and romesco sauces; spicy lamb quesadilla with mint cucumber salsa; or cioppino with clams, mussels, shrimp and scallops on a bed of linguine in a spicy tomato broth. The “Butcher Shop” offerings deliver hefty, well-prepared steaks and chops. For dessert, the chocolate tasting plate, with its pot au crème, chocolate sorbet, brownie mousse and Parisian macaroon, is perfect for sharing. More than a dozen wines are available by the glass, along with a first-rate selection of French and new-world wines by the bottle. When the weather is fine, dining on the flower-filled patio is a treat.
