Ghyslain on Market Restaurant Review: Breakfast on the patio in front of the historic carriage house headquarters of Ghyslain (pronounced "Gee-sleigh.") is ideal on a Kentucky April or May morning. It's especially appealing when it’s a savory omelet or brioche french toast, or a freshly baked flaky and buttery croissant. (Caution: The neighborhood sparrows are not shy about lingering in hope of crumbs.) Dark, rich coffee is served in a French press, of course. In less clement weather, enjoy lunch or dinner in the comfortable interior accented with shelves of gourmet chocolates (owner Ghyslain Maurais is a chocolatier, too) and the tempting case of fresh baked goods. Fixtures of the menus are an Italian baguette with pesto and mozzarella, croque monsieur, chicken curry naan, a selection of pastas, and a Scottish smoked salmon sandwich. Order at the counter where your glass of wine will be poured. Food will be delivered to your table by a member of the agreeable staff. Also located at 1215 Herr Lane, Ste. 101, Westport Village, 502-690-6001; and 416 N. 10th St., Richmond, Ind., 765-966-3344.
