Ghyslain on Market Restaurant Review: First, the name is pronounced "Gee-sleigh" as a sign on the counter proclaims. After that, all you need to know is the French press coffee and warm, buttery croissants (plain, apple, cherry or chocolate) will transport you to morning at a Paris sidewalk café. In fact, you can enjoy that breakfast on the lovely urban patio in front of this historic carriage house. Omelets and brioche french toast are among other morning selections. The lunch and dinner menus are virtually identical and feature international, casual fare such as a croque monsieur, Italian baguette with pesto and mozzarella, chicken curry naan or Scottish smoked salmon sandwich. Owner/chef Ghyslain Maurais, who hails from Québec, is a chocolatier as well, and his artistic creations, from tiny, colorful truffles to chocolates shaped like grand pianos or shoes, beckon from well-lit display cases. A well-chosen short list of wines by the glass and bottle is available to accompany your meal. Counter service is the norm. Take a number and your piping hot selection is delivered to your table. Also located at 1215 Herr Lane, Ste. 101, Westport Village, 502-690-6001; and 416 N. 10th St., Richmond, Ind., 765-966-3344.
