Giancarlo’s Ristorante Mediterraneo Restaurant Review: Wood-fired pizzas and seafood dishes are the stars at Giancarlo’s, but there are many other choices for authentic Italian dining as well. We’ve enjoyed the eggplant terrine appetizer with feta cheese, house-made lobster ravioli, and the spicy fettuccine amatriciana. Nightly fish specials are also worth considering, especially when local Dungeness crab, spot prawns and halibut are in season. For dessert, go for the tiramisu or panna cotta with a glass of vin santo. The ample wine list leans more towards Italian labels than locals, and there’s also a full bar. Seating options range from the lively bar fronting the open kitchen to the adjacent white-tablecloth dining room.
