THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Gianni's Trattoria Restaurant Review:

The décor at this traditional Italian eatery is a bit surprising. There are no red-checkered tablecloths, empty Chianti bottle candleholders, or dusty photos of the Old Country on the wall. Instead, the scene is vintage space-aged mod, with lime green floors, white upholstered seating, glass tabletops and silver accents. The menu is classic Italian with a few modern twists thrown in for good measure. Start with the creamy polenta appetizer, dotted with hot Italian sausage, mushrooms, Gorgonzola and finished with truffle oil. Or try the jumbo prawns wrapped in pancetta with garlic and chili peppers. As a main, go for one of the handmade pizzas or pastas. We like the NBV pizza (Nothing But Vegetables) with a little cheese; and the tortellini filled with chicken sausage and Fontina in a spicy sauce. For heartier appetites, try one of the signature entrées, such as the veal saltimbocca with sherry, broiled pheasant with sea salt or baked snapper with parsley purée, lobster and Meyer lemon.
