Gibsons Bar & Steakhouse Restaurant Review: When you've got it you've got it, and despite the fact that this joint has been around the block, it keeps packing them in. The crowd at this particular Gibsons outpost is not as celebrity-oriented as the downtown location. Nevertheless, Gibsons still manages to pull in the high rollers. The steaks, chops and massive shrimp cocktail --- not to mention the over-the-top lobster tails --- are on a par with the downtown location, and so is the service and atmosphere. Quite frankly, we have never met a steak here that we didn't like, but we are enamored of the bone-in sirloin and the bone-in prime rib with creamy horseradish sauce. However, you'll also contend with the likes of planked whitefish and scallops De Jonghe. Keep in mind that side dishes, such as the giant double baked potato, and desserts are sized to feed a party of four. Service is very professional. Also located at 1028 N. Rush St., Chicago, 312-266-8999; and 2105 S. Spring Rd., Oak Brook, 630-954-0000.
