The aroma of the deep-dished pizza will make your taste buds scream and your stomach roar during the inevitable weekend wait when the line can stretch down the street. Gino’s East Pizzeria has gone corporate, which means that it had to take a few steps backwards before it could go forward. And forward it is going, little by little, and the food has improved dramatically (especially the pasta sauces) in the past year. The atmosphere is loud and lively, and the graffiti etched into the tables and scribbled on the walls by patrons past makes for some interesting reading. In recent years, pizza aficionados---especially those in the city---have not loved Gino’s pizza as much as they used to. But visitors from other cities who have never experienced authentic deep-dished pizza are truly enamored of these pies.
