Giuseppe's Ritrovo Restaurant Review: Giuseppe Mangano is from Calabria, but he fine-tuned his cooking skills on luxury cruise liners before setting up shop in Bexley, right across from Capital University. In a renovated and expanded dining room, he treats guests to authentic Southern and Central Italian dishes. Although his cooking has plenty of soul, he also is a careful chef; thus, if there are cucumber slices in a salad, they're peeled and parboiled first, to tame their aggressive raw flavor and harmonize with the salad. And when he hits your taste buds with garlic, tomato and hot chile in the gamberi diavola, there's also a background of reduced fish stock and wine that sets the stage for a more subtle experience. Great care goes into every dish --- even the filled pastas are made from scratch. Try one of the sweet martinis, perhaps the chocolate-covered cherry, or save room for desserts, such as gelato, blueberry bread pudding or tiramisu.
