| If you’re feeling a midday yen for spaghetti and meatballs, this is the place to go. Cheese garlic bread, listed as an appetizer, is splendid, and dishes like chicken cacciatore, veal Marsala and the off-menu chicken livers and spaghetti are American-Italian classics prepared the same way they were a half-century ago. Although it's a shame, the front room displays a retro bar that’s not utilized as much as it used to be, thanks to the restaurant’s decision a few years ago to go lunch-only; evenings are dedicated to banquets and a once-a-month public seating for dinner. The service is crackerjack. |
