Giuseppe's is a quiet corner restaurant with frescoes on the walls, proposing a Sicilian-inspired menu of budget-friendly sandwiches and salads plus standard-priced dishes like linguine with shrimp, veal Marsala and chicken livers and onions. All are prepared the same way they were half a century ago when the place was founded. We recommend the cheese garlic bread, listed as an appetizer, and the special salad dressing has a cult following. The front room displays a retro bar serving wine and cocktails. (Go ahead, indulge in a midday libation --- our lips are sealed.) Service is crackerjack. In addition to weekday lunches, Giuseppe’s hosts evening banquets and a once-a-month public seating for dinner.
