Enter through the glow of Turkish lanterns, the perfect backdrop to enjoy a romantic meal from chef/owner Maria Hines (Tilth, Agrodolce). The flavors of Turkey, Greece, Lebanon, Israel and Egypt season the menu with bold spices and deep flavors. Designed to be shared, dishes offer a sophisticated spin on street food and reflect Hines’ creative flair. Consider starting with a few small plates, such as french fries spiced with sumac, a plump lamb meatball, and the traditional muhammara dip made with walnuts, pomegranate molasses and olive oil. Among the entrées, we suggest the pizza topped with ground rabbit, harissa-caramelized onion and mozzarella; slow-roasted baby-back ribs served with tamarind rice and apricots; or the rich lamb-chickpea stew with yogurt. Fish and vegetarian items are also available. A sweet finale is a must, so order the cardamom-spiced or black walnut donuts. Cocktails are unique but pricey for their size; wine and beer are better options.
