THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Golden Turtle Restaurant Review:
This attractive space contains easily one of the top Vietnamese restaurants in San Francisco. Chef-owner Kim-Quy Trans distinguished Vietnamese cuisine employs simple, fresh flavors in a marvelous complexity further enhanced by sweet and savory sauces. Try the cha gio, lovely pork rolls covered with a rice crêpe that one eats wrapped in lettuce with mint and cilantro. The dipping sauce is fish sauce and vinegar. The lemon grass beef is flavored with that herb, grilled and then eaten like the cha gio. Shrimp paste is wrapped around sugarcane batons for a lovely treat. Another yummy dish is the five-spice chicken served with a tangy coleslaw. Thai beer goes wonderfully with the food.
