The Good Life Restaurant Review: Downtown Crossing has welcomed its share of new restaurants, but this stalwart just may have been the first of its kind to bring the area’s dining scene to the forefront. Where once the draw was a seedy retro vibe, now it’s the trappings of sleekness, including a frozen vodka bar; where basic bar snacks once reigned supreme, now the likes of tuna tartare, lettuce wraps and avocado egg rolls hold court with pizzas with cracker-thin crusts that somehow stand up to hearty toppings such as Great Hill blue cheese and handmade mozzarella. Heartier appetites should look to the Cubano sandwich, marinated steak tips or untraditional fish ‘n’ chips made with Stella Artois-battered haddock for a true taste of the good life. |
