Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant Restaurant Review

: This chain of upscale, yuppie brewpub restaurants has coast-to-coast branches. This is one of the largest outlets, a good singles spot for young business folk, with tourists adding to the seasoning of the fun crowd. The expansive open kitchen and glass-enclosed brewery enhance the ambience of the sparkling warehouse-like eatery. For starters, we like the artichoke and crab dip served with crostini, and the blackened ahi with Cajun rémoulade. Signature pizzas are popular to share, with combinations such as barbecued, hand-pulled chicken or the crowd-pleaser of classic pepperoni. Eight-ounce burgers work well with the selection of handcrafted beers and signature garlic fries. Among entrées, creative classics such as the pecan-crusted salmon are interesting, but comfort dishes (beer-battered fish ‘n’ chips, flame-grilled New York strip) are winners, too. Save room for the apple bread pudding with pecans, vanilla ice cream and whiskey sauce. The extensive list of wines, beers, margaritas, martinis and specialty cocktails also offers an alcohol-free "no-jito" (fresh mint, soda water and fresh-squeezed lime juice).
