Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant Restaurant Review: The high ceilings and exposed ductwork look like familiar brewpub décor, but the menu shows care. You'll find a savory seafood stew, roast chicken redolent of rosemary and sage and individual pizzas with toppings such as andouille sausage, four cheeses, and roast chicken and artichoke hearts. Our favorite is the garlic-rubbed steak with horseradish-spiked smashed potatoes. The garlic fries are legendary and with good reason. Reconsider having wine and instead opt for the house brews: from light to dark, they are Pilsener, Export and Dunkles. It's usually hard to have a conversation, especially on Friday nights and weekends, when there's quite a scene. Also located at 2 Harrison St., San Francisco, 415-243-8246, and 33 E. San Fernando St., San Jose, 408-294-6785. |
