THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant Restaurant Review:
Following the success of its original Palo Alto location, this Bayside microbrewery and yuppeteria opened in 1992 and became instantly famous for singlehandedly revitalizing the singles scene. Guys and dolls continue to flock to the bar as well as the upstairs restaurant. The hearty, spicy pub fare is designed to stand up to Bierschs four German-style lagers, and it isnt bad: mostly finger food such as satays, pizzas, sandwiches and good hearty burgers, plus a selection of pastas and stir-fries. The noise level can be deafening, but for Gordon Bierschs habitués, thats part of the attraction. Also located at 640 Emerson St., Palo Alto, 650-323-7723, and 33 E. San Fernando St., San Jose, 408-294-6785.
