 Meat, in all its forms, dominates the menu in this New York-inspired steakhouse---starting with roasted prime rib of beef to double-cut lamb chops. The dramatic, high-ceilinged room with sweeping murals, original art, and muted lighting is the creation of David Aisenstat, Canada’s king of steakhouses. This 28-day aged prime is presented with a focus on simplicity and quality; plates are never overly “fussed” with. Steak prices start modestly for the steak shish kebob and climb to significant numbers for a bone-in rib steak. Sides, such as Lyonnaise potatoes, fresh asparagus or sautéed baby beets, are as plentiful as the rib-eye steaks are marbled. Opulent private rooms, an expansive patio with a fireplace, and a luxurious cocktail bar---for some of the best people-watching in Vancouver---attract local carnivores and Hollywood celebs alike.
