 The Grand Restaurant Review: THIS RESTAURANT IS TEMPORARILY CLOSED The Grand, a friendly bar, restaurant and live music venue, packs in locals for food, drink and merriment. Different moods prevail and a mix of patrons frequent this place --- the Friday night crowd bellies up to the bar to sip Moscow Mules; wine lovers relax in club chairs; and diners inhabit the fire-lit side room. Cocktails are a highlight, with handcrafted sippers like Key lime martinis and cucumber dill gimlets. We like the mini buffalo burgers with Boursin cheese and roasted salsa and the black bean and sausage soup, but the menu darts all over and lacks culinary cohesion. The lobster and chicken dumpling was a tad soggy, but lamb with pesto restores our interest. The back patio is great for big groups and has a nice ambience, with its water feature and fire table. Live music is performed Thursday through Saturday for toe-tapping fun. |
