With its simple, rough-finish furnishings and mellow, persimmon-colored interiors, this restaurant combines the ambience of rustic Italy and not-quite-rustic coastal California. The enclosed porch area offers a view of the creek. The dining room tends to get very loud at times---sound bounces right off the walls and tile floor. Still, you may be able to find a sort of peace within the storm, especially once the food arrives. Wood-oven-grilled meats are the specialty; we recommend roast chicken (a house specialty) or the Florentine beefsteak, a carnivore's delight. One of the thin-crust, wood-fired pizzas makes a great starter. The wine list is divided fairly evenly between Napa Valley wines, Italian imports and Central Coast varietals.
