Grecian Gyro Restaurant Review

: Long-established (since 1982), this simple Greek joint is a haven for a tasty, prepared-to-order gyro to-go; you can, of course, also eat on the premises. We like the loukaniko, a sort of Greek hot dog, which owner-chef Nick Koulouris, a native of Kalamata, Greece, grills before laying it carefully in a warmed puffy pita bread and slathering it with his own tzatziki sauce, feta cheese and grilled onions, all added upon request. Salads, other kinds of gyros, and those sauce-bedecked Greek potatoes, the best alternative to fast food fries, all are top treats. Don’t expect fancy digs, but do expect some of the best gyros in the city. Two other locations in the metro area are the work of Nick’s son, Pano: 3989 Lawrenceville Hwy., Tucker, 678-691-3988; and 4542 Old Dixie Hwy., Ste. 104, Forest Park, 404-363-4000.
