Green Earth Cafe Restaurant Review

: This unobtrusive little take-out counter on the second floor of the Hollywood & Highland complex is easy to miss. At first glance, it looks like your basic California sandwich shop, offering iced chai and pastries in the morning and a very basic selection of turkey sandwiches and veggie wraps from lunch until late. But closer investigation will reveal that this deli is actually sweet-tooth heaven, offering a fine pastry selection. Past the sandwich counter and around the corner from the cash register are two cases filled with individual-size versions of all the old favorites, from cream puffs to opera cake. Highlights include the fruit tarts with almond cream, carrot cake and chocolate mousse tart. Cash only.

Rude and Disrespectful
by mkatrinaf on Mon Aug 16, 2010 4:47 pm
I stopped by here with a friend to get food before a show at the Hollywood Bowl. BIG MISTAKE! The staff was so rude to me. Apparently their menu signs are mislabeled because I was overcharged. I ordered focaccia bread to go with my sandwich, which was one of the listed choices of bread. I was charged an extra $1 and when I inquired about it, I was told that those menus were mislabeled and that on the new menu it is $1 more. I looked at their new menu, and avocado was $1 extra, not the bread. It was still listed as a regular bread option to choose. I asked to change my bread, but my purchase was already processed, so there was 'nothing they could do.' I complained to just cancel my order and give me my money back, but they looked dumbfounded, weren't listening to me, and then gave me attitude. I had to make it to the Hollywood Bowl, so I took the sandwich and left. Such a misleading place...false advertising...disrespectful...NEVER again. On top of it the sandwich was dry. I was happy that a few patrons saw my dispute and they backed me up and they also left the line so they wouldn't order their food there either!!!
