Green Leaf Vietnamese Restaurant Restaurant Review: Green Leaf Vietnamese Restaurant’s second outpost is located in the basement of the historic Labor Temple. To enter, one must walk down steps and into a delightfully dim, cavernous space, fancier than most Vietnamese places. Unlike its smaller sibling in the International District, this upscale version has a water feature and a 50s-style bamboo bar and lounge, and serves libations into the wee hours. Fresh with bright flavors and quality ingredients, the cooking includes starters like salad rolls filled with shrimp and pork, and Vietnamese-style pancakes made of crispy rice-flour with a touch of coconut, filled with pork, shrimp and crunchy bean sprouts. Other favorites: pho, cabbage salad with duck and the vermicelli bowls. Finish with the grilled banana cake swimming in a luscious pool of coconut milk. Service is warm and professional. |
