Green Mill Brewing Company Restaurant Review: This is the original Green Mill, birthplace of Minnesota’s chewy-cheesy pizza. The menu includes steaks, fish, pasta, sandwiches and burgers. Avoid the overly fried appetizers like the mozzarella sticks, fries, onion rings and chicken wings, and be cautious when ordering from the grill. Remember, you’re here for the pizza. Choose from deep-dish, thin crust and pescara (our fave---a medium crust number spiced with herbs) pizzas as well as the stuffed calzones. We cast a fond eye toward specialty pizzas like the il primo, which comes loaded with spicy Italian sausage, pepperoni, roasted mushrooms and four cheeses. The bar scene at Green Mill is friendly and convivial, but most locations do a good job of separating the dining room so it is comfortable for kids.
