Griffins of Kinsale Restaurant Review: One might think Joe Griffin’s Irish pub is ill-suited for South Pas, but it has been a hit with the locals from the moment it opened. And while many come just for a pint of Guinness, a short, hand-written menu of pub classics should not be dismissed. Specialties include hearty lamb stew, shepherd’s pie, Guinness-braised brats, and corned beef and cabbage. A bowl of potato wedges makes for a good side dish or a simple bar snack. Vintage lighting, a prominent bar, a tin-stamped ceiling and repurposed century-old church pews serving as banquettes create an authentic-looking pub environment. |
