Grill 225 Restaurant Review: In an atmosphere of tasteful decadence in the lobby of the Market Pavilion Hotel, chef Demetre Castanas dishes up what could arguably be called Charleston's best steak. Appetizers of fried lobster tail and Kobe beef tartare immediately set the upscale tone. Castanas' entrées easily keep up with the standard he sets in the first course, with veal chops, steak topped with foie gras, and tuna steak Provençal. Desserts might include banana bread pudding, New York cheesecake and Carolina peach cobbler. Grill 225 is also an appropriate spot for a lunchtime celebration. The lunch menu is every bit as inviting as the dinner menu, with pasta dishes and benne sea scallops. The biggest challenge at lunch is clearly returning to work, especially when the rooftop bar of the Market Pavilion beckons on a pretty day, offering a fantastic view and a decadent, expensive array of fruity martinis.
