The Grill Restaurant Review: The Lodge at Torrey Pines is known for its gorgeous architecture and sumptuous meals at A.R. Valentien. What most people might not know is that it boasts a little spot called The Grill. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, it's perfect for an after-golf or post-swim meal for guests, but also ideal for locals looking for dependable food with no pretense. Our favorite? The drugstore-style hamburger recalls days past with a combination of beef, tart pickle, creamy mayo and toasted bun. The menu also offers standards like Niçoise salad. You can't go wrong with a root beer float with house-made vanilla ice cream for dessert. While A.R. Valentien focuses on wines, The Grill puts an emphasis on brews and periodically hosts craft beer dinners.
