The Grill Room & Bar Restaurant Review: An intensely hot wood-fired oven makes just about every dish taste better than the usual at The Grill Room & Bar. The menu is extensive and offers many ways to dine, from sharing snacks to enjoying a four-course meal. Start with simple roasted olives or the more elegant grilled foie gras with a smoked tomato vinaigrette. Be sure to sample an oyster dish, either raw or fried with spinach, bacon, apple, Tabasco and honey vinaigrette. Go on to a wood-grilled whole sea bass stuffed with lemon and herbs or the roasted duck breast with truffle mashed potatoes and chard. Wood-grilled meat and fish are served à la carte and the sides are generously portioned. Alternatively, try the spice-rubbed skirt steak with German fried potatoes, crispy onions, pickled jalapeños and a sunny-side egg from the chef's farm. For lighter fare, there’s a wood-fired pizza with duck and Brie with shaved apples and balsamic syrup. Desserts are also robust and creative, such as the strawberry rhubarb crisp for a seasonal treat or the warm chocolate cake with vanilla bean gelato for a more traditional option. The bar scene is hopping and the staff goes all out to help you choose from the menu and topnotch cocktails. |
