THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Guantanamera Restaurant Restaurant Review:
This bustling strip-mall restaurant---complete with faux metal palms, brick-accented pastel walls and linen-clad tables---has one of the most authentic Cuban menus in town. Start with ham or chicken croquetas, empanadas, Cuban tamales or creamy black bean soup. Move on to generously portioned and well-executed entrées (served with rice and beans, and plantains or yucca) such as bistec de la palomilla empanizado (tender, seasoned Milanese-style breaded sirloin), ropa vieja, oxtail in wine sauce, Cuban-spiced leg of pork or a respectable paella. Finish it all off with a refreshing batido (exotically flavored milkshake), mango mousse or the chocolate cake layered with flan. Live Cuban music is performed on weekend nights.
