THIS RESTAURANT HAS CHANGED LOCATIONS Guelaguetza Restaurant Review:

Fans of Guelaguetza (and there are many) aren't put off by the grungy Koreatown location, the sweetly raucous music blaring from the jukebox or the soccer game on TV that's usually competing with the jukebox. This friendly and clean little establishment prepares the most authentic---and probably the best---Oaxacan cuisine in the city. The complex, intensely flavorful mole dishes, multi-layered with spices, make it clear why the state of Oaxaca is sometimes referred to as the land of seven moles. When you've tried one, you'll feel compelled to return for the others. The empanadas are also terrific, as are the pizza-like clayudas and the unusual chile relleno. If they have it in stock, the chilacayota agua fresca is topnotch, a sweet squash drink seasoned with cinnamon and brown sugar. On Sunday mornings, we love to linger over a mug of the cinnamon-spiked Mexican hot chocolate. Portions are generous and prices are ridiculously low.
