THIS RESTAURANT IS CLOSED Gunning's Seafood Restaurant Review:

It's a faceless kind of place, a pastel storefront in a strip mall near the airport, but you'll hardly care once the steamed hard-shell crabs hit the brown paper table cover. In summer, those blue crabs are likely to come from Maryland's own Wye River, reputedly stomping grounds of the fattest, tastiest crustaceans. But steamed crabs aren't the only reason for visiting. All the old crab specialties --- batter-dipped crab cakes, fried stuffed hard-shell crabs, soft-shell crabs in season --- are well represented, along with a smattering of steaks and sandwiches. Three generations of Gunnings have been in the business for over 40 years, and they do know their crabs. And don’t forget their own contribution to Maryland gastronomy: battered and deep-fried green pepper rings, dusted with powdered sugar.
