Located in downtown Novi, Gus O’Connor’s provides solid, dependable Irish pub fare. Winning appetizers include a rather unusual calamari treatment: squid steaks tossed with tomato, onion and pepperoncini, served atop a colorful tomato-caper cream sauce. You’ll also encounter an Irish twist on American sliders, with corned beef, Swiss and Thousand Island dressing. Soups include a fine wild mushroom and shellfish bisque as well as potato leek. Otherwise, dive into one of Gus’ five signature boxty preparations. Daily fresh fish may include salmon and trout. Seasonal specialties range from Bavarian pretzel sticks with cheddar dip to beef osso buco short ribs with white truffle mashed potatoes.
