Well-known writer Sebastian Junger, who penned "The Perfect Storm," opened this urban pub that is part neighborhood hangout, part party scene, and a favorite among brooding writer types, who often keep their journals propped on the bar next to their pint of beer. Half King is really a bar, but in true pub tradition the kitchen turns out cheap and filling food (that manages to taste good, too) like a traditional Irish breakfast or shepherd's pie. Dinner grub includes jalapeño poppers, fish ‘n’ chips, and hearty burgers. On St. Patty's day, expect corned beef and cabbage, but no green beer.
