Half Shell Raw Bar Restaurant Review: Half Shell Raw Bar on the old waterfront is a ramshackle joint with several outdoor decks. Its semi-open Sailfish bar is a rowdy gathering place for locals who come to party and down cold beers with freshly shucked Gulf oysters and seafood finger foods, like beer-steamed peel ‘n’ eat shrimp or a bucket of steamed clams. There’s also conch fritters, fried oyster po’ boys, crab cakes on toasted Cuban bread, and fried fish sandwiches with fries and slaw or dill potato salad. Baby-back ribs are available for those averse to seafood. No AC and no tablecloths, but distinctive views of Key West Harbor with a taste of island life.
