Half Shell Raw Bar Restaurant Review: Half Shell Raw Bar is a lesson in simplicity, with plastic cutlery, picnic tables, and an open-air format situated on the water. No one comes here to do more than shuck a few oysters, clams or shrimp from the raw bar, catch a glimpse of the water, and down a few essential, vacation drinks --- whether cold beer or cocktails. Although main course offerings (broiled scallops with tartar sauce or seafood kebabs, each with a choice of two sides) have improved, they remain a marginal draw. Stick to raw bar options and seafood finger foods, like beer-steamed shrimp or a bucket of steamed clams. Then savor the saltiest waterfront spot in town, overlooking the busy intersection of the Key West Harbor and the Key West Bight. |
