| Chef-owner Ted Kashiyama does his shopping daily and has excellent sources for fish and shellfish. Order from the menu or call ahead and ask that Kashiyama prepare a special meal, often a series of hot and cold courses. The service is gracious and welcoming---though they'll be blunt in telling you what is and isn't available. Despite that, one never feels rushed even when the space is filled. Though the décor is humble, the lack of ambience is more than made up for in the sushi rolls and sashimi. A few bites into your meal, you'll feel transported to Japan, a feeling that won't end till you step back outside to Cole Valley's tree-lined streets. |
