Hank's Haute Dogs Restaurant Review: With only a few tables and counter seating along a wall, space fills up fairly quickly here---even during off-peak hours. The obsession, of course, is with the so-called “haute” dogs. A duck and foie gras dog is on the menu, but we like the kimchi-flavored Portuguese sausage with mustard and grilled onions. For a more traditional selection, opt for Hank’s “Fat Boy,” a bacon-wrapped, deep-fried hot dog topped with mayo, lettuce and tomato. Consider it a BLT in a hot dog bun. And whatever you do, don’t ask for ketchup unless you’re ordering the hand-cut double-cooked fries. |
