Hardway 8 Restaurant Review:

Hardway 8 is named for the nickname of legendary Jerry Tarkanian's 1977 UNLV men's basketball team that was the first UNLV team to ever play in the Final Four. The homage to the team continues in the décor, with a bar and long tables made from reclaimed bleachers fans sat on when the team played, walls filled with photographs of athletes and sports memorabilia, TVs tuned to sports programming, and a front with a garage door that rolls up during nicer weather. The menu, designed by consulting chef Johnny Church, formerly of Aureole and Golden Entertainment, includes prosciutto and Swiss stuffed turkey meatballs, 8 Way Deep Fried Mozzarella, a corned Buffalo Reuben sandwich, grilled vegetable panini, beer can chicken, rabbit sausage bangers and mash with barley wine-braised onions, and 24-hour braised porchetta with Brussels sprouts tossed in horseradish crème fraîche. The cuisine is backed up with an extensive craft beer selection including several local brews.
