This sleek Old City outpost of the New York-based chain manages to serve two masters, delivering pristine traditional sushi as well as sushi with contemporary twists that combine unusual ingredients in surprisingly tasty ways. Like the seasonal summer roll, with its sweet-meets-heat combo of crunchy yellowtail and silky scallops with jalapeƱo, mango and thinly sliced strawberries. Housed in a former bank, with high ceilings, plenty of glass and votives, and leather banquettes, Haru offers specialty cocktails like the Arata, a bracing mixture of gin, mint and cucumber. Expect a hipster soundtrack and vibe.
