Harvest Moon Cafe Restaurant Review: Harvest Moon seems a bit humble on the outside, but cast suspicions aside. Husband-and-wife chef team, Jen and Nick Demarest, have serious credentials that include stints at Chez Panisse and La Toque, and a solid menu-lineup reflects that experience. Things change daily, reflecting Nick's whims and what's fresh at the market: Monterey Bay sardines and potatoes with a salsa verde kick, kampachi crudo with fennel and mint, house-made lamb ravioli in caramelized onion broth, or a simple grilled pork chop and radicchio. Desserts from Jen’s deft hand include cheesecake in blood-orange sauce and guilty-pleasure ice cream sandwiches. The somewhat awkward space can get noisy, but the best seat in the house is at the kitchen grill, where Nick chats easily about what's on the evening’s menu. On sunny days, opt for the spacious patio hideaway.
