THIS ESTABLISHMENT IS CLOSED The owners of this Cuban eatery have transformed a plain storefront into a suburban beachfront, installing thatched hut awnings, faux coconut palms, plenty of nautical gear, a sky-painted ceiling, and some artsy photos of Old Havana to give their restaurant a tropical flavor. The kitchen turns out respectable renditions of traditional Cuban dishes, the service is cordial and attentive, but prices seem a tad high compared to other informal Cuban establishments in the area. The menu offers creamy croquetas de jamón, Cuban sandwiches, ropa vieja, arroz con pollo, and flan or tres leches cake for dessert. And here's a multi-cultural twist: since one of the owners is German, on Thursday nights---in addition to the Cuban specialties---you can order wienerschnitzel, Old World sausages, and imported German beers!
